In the cylinder block of an automotive engine, there are multiple water passages for cooling water circulation. These passages connect via hoses to the radiator (commonly known as the water tank) located at the front of the vehicle, forming a large water circulation system. At the upper outlet of the engine is a water pump, driven by the fan belt. It draws hot water from the water passages in the engine block and pumps coolant into the circuit.
